It may have been that it rained almost every day, that Riley's nap schedule went to hell in a hand-basket, or perhaps that she recently figured out that the two long limbs attached to her torso could be used to propel her towards dangerous objects at an alarming rate.
We had a celebration of my first year of parenting. I mean, Riley's birthday.
More good news: I'm headed to Seattle this weekend to see some of my favorite people! Most importantly, this beautiful bride-to-be!
And, in my final piece of exciting news: We head back to Kansas in almost exactly a month! The original plan was to fly to Kansas for Greg's homecoming, fly back to New York, go on a little romantic getaway, then drive to Kansas from NY afterwards. Things kind of changed last week when Greg suggested I get the drive done ahead of time. OH, A 20 HOUR ROAD TRIP WITH A BABY AND A DOG, ALONE, HOW KIND OF YOU TO OFFER, HUSBAND. Don't worry though, I won't have to kill him yet - he asked if I had any friends who would be willing to do the drive with me, and we'd buy their flight back home.
I am so lucky to have so many awesome friends, and luckily Kyle, one of my best friends since I was 10, was game for an adventure. Well, he's pretty much ALWAYS game for an adventure - but I'm not sure he knows what he's getting himself into with this one. Insert evil laughter here.
As you can see, there was a whole lot to be grateful for in April - but there's even more good stuff in store for May. I'm really going to do my best to make the most of the time I have left in New York before we get outta dodge. Let the countdown begin!
